Get an account

An account holds your sites, your domains, your tokens and your plan.

Open https://app.heyclave.com/signup and give your email address. Clave sends a link to it, and the link makes the account. An agent can also make it for you: when it asks for access to an address with no account, the grant screen offers to make one. Either way what you end up with is a sign-in address.

When many people sign up at once, your address waits in line. Clave emails you the link when there is room, usually within a day.

Try it without an account

You can start before you have an account, with no email to wait for.

An email is optional. Clave does not check it and sends it no mail yet.

A try has small limits:

To keep the work, verify an email. Ask your agent to do it: it calls verify_email, and you get a link. The email and the agent show the same code, so you can see the email is for your session. Open the link and press Keep my site. Then you have an ordinary account on the Trial plan, with the site and its source, and the agent can publish it. If the draft went offline, the next build makes it again, at a new address.

If another Clave account already uses that email, no mail arrives. Sign in to that account instead, or verify another address.

There is no password. You give your email address and Clave sends a link to it. The link signs you in.

A passkey is the one thing built on top of that link. You register a passkey from inside a session you are already in, so your address stays the root of trust. If you remove your last passkey, you are not locked out: the emailed link still works.

What the browser app is for

The app is the owner's half of the platform. It shows what you own, who may act for you, and the decisions that destroy or restore a thing. It never edits a site: the agent owns what a site says.

Four moments need a person in a browser:
